Proofpoint Discovery Lab: Strengthen Identity Security
10-17, 10:00–12:00 (America/New_York), Track 3 (205AB)
Language: English

Join us for an interactive workshop designed to help your organization improve its identity risk. This Capture the Flag lab will include an exclusive red team/blue team, hands-on experience secured with the Proofpoint Identity Threat Defense platform. Your goal, should you accept the challenge, is to break into the simulated casino’s network, steal the slot machine code file from a server, and execute a ransomware attack before getting detected and stopped. Don’t worry; it is all for learning and good fun. No laws will be broken, and prizes will be awarded!

Many organizations find major vulnerability and detection gaps between primarily preventive IAM controls and increasingly common attacker tools and techniques that circumvent them. It is most evident post-initial compromise, where more sophisticated attackers showcase their skills and use commonly available attacker tools to move laterally and escalate their privilege to access the organization’s crown jewels. Identity Threat Detection and Response solutions, such as Proofpoint Identity Threat Defense, are emerging to address these challenges head-on.

In this free workshop, you will:

- Learn how attackers move from initial compromise to their ultimate breach endgame.
- Get firsthand experience with common attack tools such as Mimikatz, Lazagne, Nmap, and others.
- See how widely deployed endpoint-based deceptions provide extremely high-fidelity detections.
- Have fun as a white hat hacker!

Reminder: You must bring your own personal laptop to participate in the hands-on lab. You may also bring peripheral devices such as a keyboard and mouse. However, all security-related activities will occur in a remote, cloud-hosted lab environment. You will not be loading any software onto your personal laptop.
